What is Myra Canyon Bike Rental and Tours?
We are the first and only company to offer the convenience of on-site bicycle rentals at Kelowna’s Myra Canyon Trail. In addition to on-site bicycle rental, we also offer guided & self-guided bicycle tours.
Myra Canyon Bicycle Rental and Tours is conveniently located right at the east entrance of the trail in the Myra Station parking lot of Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park (accessed via McCulloch Road and Myra Forest Service Road).
Where can I find your rental shop?
We are located right at Myra Station parking lot—the east entrance of the Myra Canyon Trail and its 18 trestles and 2 tunnels! For more detailed information on how to find us, please visit our Locations page.
Do you offer guided tours?
Yes! We currently offer:
- Guided 24 km half day tours for the Myra Canyon.
- Self-guided full day tour for the 74 km trip from Myra Canyon to Penticton.
- Bike + Wine full day tour: Guided Magnificent Myra Canyon Trestles, Tunnel and Wine Tasting Tour.
- Guided ECOTOUR ON Bamboo Bicycle with wine tasting.
Please make your reservation online. Reservations need to be made and paid at least 48 hours in advance. Guided Tour 1 reservation can be made until 12.00 pm noon the day before. All other Tours reservations must be made 48 hours in advance. For more information on our tours, please go to our Tours page.
Do you offer rental to Penticton?
No, unfortunately not. But, we do offer self-guided Tours. You can visit our Tours page for more details on our Myra Canyon to Penticton Tour. For more information or for special requests, contact us at [email protected].
What is your cancellation policy?

Do you have a concession on site?
We have a small concession stand at the Myra Station parking lot with water, Clif bars, and souvenirs.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes, we do! You can find the direct link using the button in the top right corner on the homepage of our website.
No, we do not allow personal attachments to our bicycles. Tag-alongs and bicycle trailers are available for rent in combination with a rented adult bicycle only.
Does Myra Canyon Bike Rental and Tours follow Tourism Sustainability Guidelines?
Myra Canyon Bicycle Rental and Tours is recognized as a Biosphere Committed Entity for Tourism Sustainability. Biosphere develops certifications to guarantee compliance with the principles of sustainability and continuous improvement through a private, voluntary, and independent certification system.
How does Myra Canyon bike rentals give back?
At Myra Canyon Bike Rentals we believe that giving back is an important part of being a local business.
Therefore part of the proceeds of each rental goes back to BC Parks, Friends of the South Slopes and the BC Parks Foundation.
Furthermore we support local schools and charities with gift card and special events.
In order to be a valuable global citizen we take part in intitiaves such as the UN sustainable goals.
Our founding director Ben takes part in an annual soccer tournament in Mexico where he donates soccer balls and equipment to the local soccer teams.
Reservations give you peace of mind and you will also save time as we will have the bikes set up and ready to go upon your arrival!
About Our Bikes
Do I need to reserve a bicycle?
Reservations are highly recommended for our on-site bike rentals as there is a high demand for our bicycles! Reservations can be made online.
Not only do reservations give you peace of mind but it will also save you time. You can already sign the waiver (required) online when you reserve your bike, and we will have your bikes set up and ready to go when you arrive at the parking lot!

All rentals are subject to 5% GST.
*Half day is morning (9 am to 1 pm), afternoon (1.30 pm to 5.30 pm).

At what time do I have to pick up my rental?
Morning rentals will be available at 9 am, and afternoon rentals at 1.30 pm. It is possible to pick up your bicycles later, but they need to be returned within the time frame (at 1 pm for morning rentals, or at 5.30 pm for afternoon rentals).
At what time do I have to return my rental?
Morning rentals are due back at 1 pm, and afternoon rentals at 5.30 pm. All equipment must be returned to your original designated Myra Canyon Bike Rental station. Rentals are not to be taken off the KVR trail.
What happens if I am late returning my rental?
Late returns will be charged a $ 15 per hour per item and not prorated by minutes. If returned after closing time of 5.30 pm PST, the late return fee per item is a minimum of $ 40 plus $20 per hour after the first non prorated hour.
Will I get some money back if I return my bike early?
There are no refunds on early returns.
Included in the rental?
For the on-site bicycle rental, Myra Canyon Bicycle Rental and Tours provides a well-maintained bicycle for your size (between XS and XL), children’s bicycle or equipment, and a bicycle helmet for each renter.
Are helmets provided with the rental?
Myra Canyon Bicycle Rental and Tours provides every renter with a bicycle helmet. Our staff is properly trained to ensure the safe use of a helmet and will give our riders proper instructions prior to departure. All helmets are sanitized in between rides.
Do you rent helmets?
Helmets are mandatory and included with all bike rentals. We do not rent helmets on their own.
What if the rental gets damaged?
Renters assume full responsibility for the bicycles and any other equipment. Renters agree to compensate Myra Canyon Bicycle Rental and Tours for damages caused to the equipment.
Do you have any options for pets?
No, we do not offer any options for pets. All our bikes and equipment is for human use only.
Do you rent e-bikes?
Only when booking a tour, we offer the option of renting an e-bike.
E-bikes are not available for on-site bicycle rentals.
Looking for a little help from a motor? Book a bicycle tour and treat yourself to a Royal Ride! Our Royal Dutch Gazelle bikes are class 1 E-bikes equipped with a Bosch Performance line pedal assist motor. The pedal assist is a perfect partner to help you along the 18 trestles, 2 tunnels and 24km round-trip full of majestic views in the Myra Canyon Park. Our E-bikes are restricted to the Myra Canyon park and can not be used outside of the park (unless booked with a Tour 2 to Penticton). All Renters and riders of our E-bikes must be 19yrs or older. All E-bike Rentals will require ID check and security deposit upon rental.
ALL E-Bikes must be reserved through the booking of a guided tour in advance, NO Walk-in Rentals.
E Bikes rules:
- Must be 19 YEARS OR OLDER to ride / rent;
- Tour addition $30.00 / bike half day, $50.00 / bike for Penticton;
- Requires ID Check and Security Deposit;
- NO attachments available for E Bikes
- ALL E-Bikes must be reserved in advance, NO Walk-in Rentals.
Do you offer a shuttle service for privately owned bicycles?
No, we do not offer such a service. Our trailers are custom made for the bicycles we carry; other sizes of bicycles, e-bikes, or fat bikes would not fit.
About Myra Canyon and the KVR
How do I get to Myra Canyon?
There are two access roads to Myra Canyon:
- Myra Forest Service Road to the Myra Station parking lot (east side of the Canyon),
- Little White Forest Service Road to the Ruth Station parking lot (west side of the Canyon).
Our bicycle rental shop is located at Myra Station parking lot, the east entrance of the Myra Canyon Trail.
How long does it take to bike the Myra Canyon Trail?
The 24 km interactive trail (12 km one way to the other side of the Canyon plus 12 km for the same way back) can be comfortably cycled in 2–2.5 hours at a moderate pace with a few stops or 3–3.5 hours at a relaxed pace with plenty of time for taking pictures and short breaks.
How long is the route?
The Myra Canyon Trail is 12 km each way, for a total of 24 km. As the trail is not a loop, you can also turn around at any point in time.
The trail is well maintained and very flat, making it accessible to all skill levels. The trail can be walked, but we recommend enjoying the full trail on a bicycle.
Is Myra Canyon open?
Myra Canyon is part of BC Parks and is open all year round without needing a booking or reservations.
Our bicycle rental shop is located at the Myra Station parking lot on the east side of the Canyon. We are right at the beginning of the trail between May long weekend and October (weather depending, until snowfall).
Who will enjoy biking in Myra Canyon?
The Myra Canyon Trail can be enjoyed by people of all ages and is suitable for families and groups of all sizes. The trail is flat, without hills or turnoffs, and leads over 18 trestles and through 2 tunnels where the steam train used to go. Visitors relish the incredible views from the Canyon toward Kelowna and West Kelowna and enjoy the nature and silence at this exceptional location.
Is the trail good for kids?
Yes. The Myra Canyon Trail is enjoyed by people of all ages and is suitable for families and groups of all sizes. The trail is flat, without hills or turnoffs, and leads over 18 trestles and through 2 tunnels where the steam train used to go.
Is it possible to cycle the entire Kettle Valley Rail Trail?
The Kettle Valley Rail Trail (KVR trail) starts west of Midway and runs to Rock Creek, then north to Myra Canyon, down to Penticton and over to Princeton, Coalmont, Brookmere, Coquihalla, and finally Hope. Some people cycle the whole trail in multiple days. The KVR trail is not always as well maintained as the Myra Canyon section but can be cycled at own risk.
Where does the Kettle Valley Railway go?
The Kettle Valley Railway was built by the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) around the turn of the 20th century to connect the main CPR line with the Kootenay region after gold, silver, and other minerals were found in the area. It goes all the way from Midway to Rock Creek, north to Myra Canyon, down to Penticton over to Princeton, Coalmont, Brookmere, Coquihalla, and finally Hope.
Much of the railway's original route has been converted into a multi-use recreational trail. It is now known as the Kettle Valley Rail Trail, which is part of the Trans Canada Trail.
